The day commemorates the signing of a treaty between the New Zealand Maori and the British Crown. It is recognised as New Zealand’s National Day. It was a landmark event in the relationship between European colonial powers and traditional land owners.

Our event has been operating since 2002 and has grown from a small gathering of Club members and friends to an event attended by 10,000 people.

Our family fun day event celebrates Pacific Island culture by showcasing traditional dance, music and food, interspersed with modern interpretations of community life.

The 2011 event will raise money for the Gold Coast Polynesian Youth Foundation, and for assisting young people in the pacific.

Due to liquor licence and council regulations, NO BYO ALCOHOL is allowed to be bought into the ground. Small eskies containing food and soft drinks are permitted and will be checked on entry. Hangi, ethnic and fun foods and beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, will be available at reasonable prices.
Sorry, no dogs are permitted. We recommend that you bring some shade and wear hats and sunscreen. Proceeds support Bond Pirates Rugby Union Club and the junior development program so your support of this event is a practical measure that provides a visible community benefit. This event is organised and run by volunteer labour and meets all Council, Police and Liquor Licencing requirements
